I'm not sure what you meant by using email template for docs? You can change the email template through the admin panel > email templates section.

Yes, I mean the same. I wanted to change email template through admin panel. It is working now.

Why don't you use any external plugin for the same. there are many to help you in this process. I am using for my accounting software
